Zenghui Wang completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Washington.

We have a new post-doc in our group!

Matt Graham completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, under the supervision of Prof. Graham Fleming. His thesis was on the topic of "Ultrafast nonlinear spectroscopy of semiconducting carbon nanotubes". His research interests are on understanding the fundamentals of light-matter interactions to help engineers the next generation of nanomaterials.

Jiwoong Park Recipient of Presidential Early Career Award

The White House announced on 7/9/2009 that Jiwoong Park is a recipient of the 2009 Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).

The PECASE program was established in 1996 to identify and honor outstanding researchers who are beginning their independent research careers, and to provide recognition of their potential for leadership across the frontiers of scientific knowledge during the 21st century. Recipients are nominated by the National Science Foundation, NASA and the Departments of Health and Human Services, Defense, Energy, Agriculture, Education, Commerce, Veterans Affairs.

CCSF Grant Awarded

The Park Group was recently awarded a grant by the Cornells Center for a Sustainable Future (CCSF). This is a joint grant with Professors Sandip Tiwari and Christopher Ober and is focused on studying Solar Cells Using Inorganic "Grass"

Our group has received a new grant from the Cornell Center for Nanoscale Systems (through the National Science Foundation) for studying "Electronics and Optoelectronics with Chirality Resolved Nanotube Arrays". Congratulations!

We have a new post-doc in our group!

Sang Yong Ju will be performing ensemble measurements on carbon nanotubes and graphene. He earned his Ph.D. at University of Connecticut and was born and raised in Seoul, Korea.

His favorite food is a special Korean pork dish called "sam-gyup-sal" and during his free time, he enjoys building miniature figurines.

Mark Levendorf and Daniel Joh both graduated as Bachelors with High Honors in Chemistry from Cornell University! Mark will be pursuing his PhD and Daniel will be completing his M.Eng. in the Park Laboratory. They were both recipients of the Merck Index Award. Congratulations!
